Remember Mini Book.
Remember Anita? Back around this time last year there was a LOT of talk on this here blog about her as I prepared and fund raised to drive to Canada and deliver her scrapbook. (There were so many helpful people who donated to my cause, and I want to say thank you once again for that.) After my trip in March of last year, I felt a little bad that the younger daughter had gotten a scrapbook and the older daughter (and son) had not, and it bothered Jillian just a little bit too. I asked Anita to send me some photos of Jillian and her brother, and I would whip up a mini book just for her and Connor. It took me a while due to just plain old not being motivated (and I kept forgetting about it to tell you the truth), but I FINALLY got it finished and it’s on the way to Anita’s house right now! I tried to make it sort of a “family” mini book with all the kids in it and there are a few photos of Anita too. Unfortunately, dad is nowhere to be found but that’s only because he wasn’t in any of the photos!
This mini book started out as a book I put together during the big 2-day crop last February at Creek Bank Creations. I attended the class taught by Julie Creek, who I love, and we put this book together. I had chosen the papers and colors but didn’t really know what to do with it afterward, but figured I’d use it for a birthday scrapbook or something like that and as I was searching for a way to put this new mini book together I remembered it and decided to use it. It started out back in February 2009 just kind of plain with patterned paper covers and just the blue and pink cardstock inside making the pages and pockets, and I decorated it up a bit more as I went along and arranged Anita’s photos inside.
So here’s a look at the cover:
Can you tell I colored in the word “remember” with my gold glitter pen. I also colored in lots of the small dots and circles on the cover paper.
a closer look: (the butterfly is an old book page that I painted with watered down acrylic paint and then aplied crystal Stickles to it)
Can you tell in the above photo that I applied Hambly rubon moustaches to the kids? tee hee
