It’s a Dog’s Life…. so scrapbook it!

Okay, does this pooch look like she’s living the life of luxury or what? :) This is our new pup Ginger. My daughter (she’s 7) named her that because she’s the color of the spice ginger. How does she even KNOW what color the spice ginger is? This kid amazes me! We got Ginger from the animal shelter and she’s very happy with us. Maybe a little too happy. She’s a biter when she’s excited, and one of us is always bleeding from a fresh wound somewhere on our body! My daughter wanted this pup so badly, begged until she was blue in the face, and now she doesn’t want to have anything to do with her. Every time she takes her outside or tries to play with her, all Ginger wants to do is bite her (playfully but is HURTS!) I’m at a loss for what to do about it.
But I can’t wait to scrap this photo. It cracks me up. And hopefully Ginger will get over the biting thing soon and she & Summer will be best buds growing up and I can make a scrapbook layout someday about how Summer didn’t even want to be in the same room with this puppy. She probably won’t believe it in about 10 years. Which is a good reason for a scrapbook! Got any helpful puppy tips or tricks? Leave me a comment please!

Adorable photo Corinna! Can’t wait to see the page you end up scrapping.
Can’t think of any puppy tips though. We dog-sat for my sister’s dog for a year and he just worked his way right into our hearts. He thought he was a person. And we had to learn all about his “pack-mentality”. Good luck! Glad to see you were able to post a photo.
Cute photo. Can’t wait to see the lo’s. You can tell him/her… No bitting… No Bite…. tap her mouth and say no bitting/bite. That is all I think of.
What a great photo! My cat was laying like this the other day. It was cool and the sun was shining on her tummy. It was so cute.
I don’t have any experience in puppy training. I do like watching the Dog Wisperer on the National Geographic Channel. He talks about teaching dogs that you are the leader. Not them. Here is a link. I hope it helps.

Can’t wait to see your layout with this photo of Ginger!
Such a cute puppy!!! When ginger bites say NO then turn around. She will hate not having attention and learn that it is not good. Make sure it is every time. Consistency is the key. Also, make sure Ken doesn’t play wrestle with her!!!! Jeff does it all the time with Rocky and when we take him to the vet we have to muzzle him because he wants to wrestle and bite. Yes he hates going on general principle, lol, but it does make it hard for me to take a 98 lb dog anywhere!!! Also start training now and do it with Summer while ginger is little. check out the Y or anywhere else that does it. It WILL make a difference. give Summer penguin kisses!!
What a Cute Picture! That will be fun to Scrap. What kind of a dog is Ginger? Very Very Cute!
Great photo, Corrina! Animals live the life, don’t they??? I don’t have a dog, only cats. But I saw on a pet show one time that when they do something bad when they are puppies and kittens you are to pick them up over your head (something relating back to the mother or something) and tell them NO firmly. I did it with my kitten when she was biting and it seemed to work but I don’t know if it would work with your puppy or not. That is a big puppy to lift over your head! LOL

That is a cute cute photo!!!
Try getting a newspaper and rolling it up. When she bites, hit her on the head with it and say no. Im not one for hitting animals trust me, but it doesnt hurt her, its the noise that scares her.
And I agree with Thea, dont do any wrestling. She wont be able to differ between good play and bad play..
Does she have play toys to chew on?? Something for her teeth to chew like rawhides? That might help…
