Happy Birthday to Cards For Heroes!
You’re not old……….Just wise.
This is a recent card I made. I’m posting it today because today is Cards For Heroes (.org) birthday and I want to celebrate with them. I always thought it was a good cause, but I feel even more strongly about helping out now that my nephew recently joined the military and may be one of those soldiers all too soon. Thanks to Cards For Heroes for all you do for our military men and women!
You can see up close the owl is sparkly and I outlined the clouds with sparkles (those Stickles that I love).
the owl’s sparkly wings…..and those eyeballs are OLD, seriously at LEAST 40-45 years old.
This is a chipboard tree branch from an old Creating Keepsakes kit of the month and I used the Stickles to outline the edges of the leaves and put a dot in the middle of the flowers.

You can find this card in my etsy shop for sale. I plan to make and send more to Cards For Heroes in the next few weeks. It’s hard because no glitter is allowed! Do you know how hard that is for me? But it’s bad for the troops so no glitter it is.
If you haven’t heard of Cards For Heroes, then go on over to their website and check it out. It’s pretty inspiring. People have made and donated over 186,000 cards to their organization, and in turn those cards have been sent to soldiers overseas so they can write home. They also accept handmade cards to send TO soldiers, which I plan to do soon also. If any of you reading this are cardmakers and want to contribute, feel free to contact me and send me your cards and I would be happy to combine them in a box with mine to send them to Cards For Heroes (I’m shipping end of September).
