Dream becomes reality.

March 25th, 2009

I did it.  I made the trip to Canada and back.  I had a dream, and I saw it come true.  And it’s all because of YOU.  Every single one of you.  The strangers and friends and companies and scrappy bloggers who donated scrapbooking supplies to me and donated your hard-earned money to me and the ones who bid and won the auctions.  I thank you.  I am not wealthy (not even close! haha), and I could never, ever have made this trip without all of you.  Words are not enough.  Thank you is not enough.  I will never be able to express to all of you what your kindness and your generosity has meant to me.  In the coming days I will tell you all about my trip but today I leave you with this.  As I was leaving Anita’s house last weekend, she said to me, “I don’t know what to say to you.  Thank you just isn’t enough.  It’s not enough.”  And that’s exactly how I feel right now about YOU.  I am overwhelmed, and my heart is so full.

Thank you.

Like I said up above, just leave a comment if you’re interested or you can email me privately at kcsummerrose@avenuebroadband.com and make me an offer!

You can read more about Anita and the auctions and why I’ve been holding them and selling stuff here on my blog.

** edited to add.  Any money that is earned from selling items after my trip to Canada will be given directly to Anita and her family.  They will be traveling every day for chemo treatment to a hospital that’s 1.5 hours away, so at the very least they could use the gas money!

Paper flowers!

March 12th, 2009

My friend Abby made these cool torn paper flowers (I added some stuff to the middles of them) and sent them to me so that I could include them in the auctions and sell them individually for my Canada trip fundraiser to take Anita the scrapbook.  I’ve been so caught up in sorting all the donations into kits and themes and listing the stuff on ebay and shipping it out, I haven’t had time until now to show these to you.  Seriously, my Abbykins is sickeningly talented with paper.  Thanks for your donation Abby!

Aren’t they fabulous?  Can you see the glittery-ness and the pretty lines of paint here and there?  I’m going to go list them in my etsy shop individually for sale so if you like what you see go to the shop here and purchase as many as you like!  Although in the shop they’re $2.20 to cover for the fee Etsy charges me to put them in the shop, you can just contact me via my blog or leave a comment to get one too!  Still a great deal!  I have measured them and described their sizes in their descriptions in my etsy shop.

I am picturing these on the front of a card and on a scrapbook page and I think they would be darling with a magnet on the back and put on the fridge or inspiration board or hang a tiny tag on them and give to a friend.  I have so many ideas in my head for these!

My last chance effort.

March 7th, 2009

Wanna get a good deal on some cool scrapping supplies?  My Canada trip to deliver the scrapbook my friends and I made to Anita is next week, so this is it!  This is the final weekend of auctions to raise money for my cause.  Everything I have left is on ebay right now up for auctions.  Here’s the page where it shows all my auctions.  Of course, once you’re looking at one of the bundles you can always click on “view sellers other items” if you’re not familiar with ebay.  There’s always a link somewhere to get you to the place to see everything.

Right now there are books, online classes, memberships, large mixed lots of supplies in themes like Christmas, winter, baby, beach, Disney, teenager, and that’s just to mention a few.  Go check it out and bid generously please!

For those of you who’ve been bidding and winning my auctions, I thank you so much.  It’s gonna happen.  This trip is a go!  And it’s because of you all helping me and I appreciate it so much.  Any money that’s left is going to be given to Anita for her medical bills, as I’m sure they are astronomical.

Designs by Reminisce products arrived.

**Another auction post….

** Turns out the trip is going to be sooner than I thought AGAIN.  Due to an idiotic scheduling conflict on my part, we’ll be going to see Anita and deliver her scrapbook NEXT WEEK!  So I’m busy getting all the auctions ready to list so they’ll end this weekend.

Another box arrived and inside was the beautiful “Real Magic” collection from Reminisce.  It’s all glittery and sparkly and so cool!

March 3rd, 2009

** Another auction post (it’s almost over, people!)

I asked lots of scrapbooking “celebs” and bloggers to donate to my cause and got some great stuff sent in to me, but Elizabeth Dilow from Simple Scrapbooks just blew me away with her generosity!  Check it out.

Anita.

March 2nd, 2009

Last week I decided to change the Canada trip plans and go earlier.  I’ve just had this sense of urgency to get there sooner.  My original plan was for the 3rd week of April, but since my traveling companion had a change in her schedule she was able to be free the 3rd week of March, and we adjusted our itinerary for that.

Then I heard from Anita yesterday.  She had been recovering from a major surgery February 2 where they removed half of her liver to get rid of what they thought were tumors left (they weren’t sure).  She told me that her cancer is back in the same place where she had her mastectomy and that she will be undergoing surgery again on Wednesday to have the lumps removed.  Now she’s looking at radiation therapy 5 days a week for 5 weeks beginning the end of March, so I’m very glad we changed our plans and now we will be going before she starts her radiation.  I have to wonder if that’s why I was feeling the urgency to get there faster.

So things are going to need to be wrapped up pretty quick here.  I will be leaving March 19, just 17 days away.

I am hoping to get all the rest of the auctions up so that they end on Saturday and Sunday of THIS WEEK to raise money for the trip.  Right now there are a couple of auctions up and I’ll provide those links in a bit.

And if you’re so inclined, pray for Anita.

New auctions are up again!
